The poetics of the operating room have always been of interest to me. I am fascinated with the human body, the mechanics of which were never meant to see light let alone be documented by my camera. I had been photographing in the medical field for two and a half years and found myself wanting to use photography and my experience in medical settings to make a greater impact. I began in Cambodia documenting the work of a medical non-government organization and have since traveled to Honduras and Brazil.
